Necessary but boring preparation work; cleaning the threads of all fasteners used to hold the water jacket cover plates.  The die nut is set very loose as the intention is not to remove metal but to remove rust, correct faults and remove old sealant.  Failure to do this work would probably lead to water leaks.

The screw heads and slots are cleaned with a wire brush and then solvent.  After fitting they will need painting.

Engine sub frame in place and clamped down with the correct spacers fitted under each bridge piece.  The front pivoting support has been cleaned and oiled.
